Renovating wardrobes causes a harmless smell.

As you have probably gathered, we are currently renovating our wardrobes, and right now acrylic is being laid on the floor and walls.

The picture shows the colours: The gray mottled color is placed on the floor and the white mottled color is placed on some of the walls.

Laying acrylic causes an unfamiliar smell in the waterpark, but it is completely harmless!

Acrylicon Midt- og Vest-Norge AS carries out this job for us, and here is some more information from the company about the smell:

"We are now laying new floor and ceiling covering in this area.

Acrylic coating smells when laying and hardens. This does not pose a health risk, but the smell can be unpleasant. The smell itself is only the smell of liquid plastic.

The Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority's requirements for max. odor concentrate is 25 ppm. However, it smells when concentrated down to 2 ppm.

After the coating has fully cured (2 hours after topcoat), there is no evaporation from the coating, which has then assumed its shape and is a dead material.

There will still be some residual odor in the premises for approx. 1-2 days after laying, but this is in harmless concentrates.

There is therefore no danger associated with staying/working at the Pirbadet, neither during the period we are carrying out the work, nor after the coating has fully cured, even if there is a lingering smell.

The products do not contain solvents, and consequently have no YL group.

Data sheet can be obtained from responsible lays (Acrylicon)"
